About Lil Moons

Welcome to Lil Moons, my little corner of the world where tiny dolls, plushies, whimsical characters, and childhood memories come together.

I’m Monique Lula, an artist, doll maker, and lifelong collector who has been enchanted by little characters for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the 1970s and experienced the excitement of the original doll crazes—from spending countless hours with my Barbie dolls to living through the unforgettable Cabbage Patch Kids phenomenon. Those toys weren’t just things to play with; they sparked a lifelong love of creativity, imagination, and storytelling.

Years later, becoming a mom gave me the chance to experience that same magic all over again. Watching my daughter fall in love with colorful worlds like Yo Gabba Gabba! and The Backyardigans reminded me that the joy of cute characters never really fades. We filled our home with plushies, dolls, and lovable little friends that became treasured memories.

Over the years, I began calling all of these adorable little creations my “Lil Moons.” It’s a name I created for the tiny dolls, plushies, magical creatures, and whimsical characters that always seem to bring a little extra light into the world. Whether they’re handmade, rescued, vintage, modern, or simply imagined, they’ll always be my Lil Moons.

Today, I combine my lifelong love of art with modern technology to design and imagine the dolls and plushies I’d love to create by hand one day. I also enjoy rescuing forgotten dolls from thrift stores, collecting them, and dreaming up the makeovers they’ll someday receive. Every little face has a story waiting to be told.

Lil Moons is my place to celebrate everything cute, nostalgic, imaginative, and handmade. Whether you’re a fellow collector, a doll artist, a plushie enthusiast, or someone who simply smiles at adorable little characters, I’m so happy you’re here.

Thank you for visiting, following along, and supporting this creative adventure. I hope these little moons brighten your day as much as they brighten mine. 💜
